UpdatesMaintenance updates (minor enhancements and bug fixes) are released relatively frequently - perhaps every 1-3 months. These are always free, and will be installed automatically provided you have internet access and auto-updates are turned on.
Major upgrades introduce important new functions, or support for new hardware or Windows releases. If a major upgrade is released within 12 months of your initial Topshare purchase, you will be entitled to the upgrade at no cost. Otherwise, upgrades will be available for licensed users at a 50% discount to the cost of a new license. Detailed costs are shown below.
There are two data supply options for Topshare:
A free current-data service. One click, and you can download 20-minute-delayed prices for all stocks in your portfolio. Historical data is not available. This service is sourced from Yahoo.
An optional subscription service, provided by Topshare under license from the ASX. Fully integrated into Topshare, so that your share price data are always automatically up-to-date. Includes up to 8 years of historical data.
You can purchase two different license types for Topshare.
Standard offers all the facilities required by normal private users. It does not include the extra facilities listed below for the Professional version. You can only run Topshare in Exclusive database mode (one user at a time). You are permitted to install the software on a maximum of 2 computers per license, provided both computers are used to work on the same portfolio data. For example, a home computer and a work computer; or a desktop and laptop within the home.
Professional includes extra facilities of value in an office, network or corporate situation:
